Only two more sleeps before we take position of our future permaculture farm and already I am burnt out looking for ways to repair our smoke damaged home. Some of the best repairs and improvements come when you can simply remove and discard the problem and its cause. However with almost a decade of smoking cancer-sticks in what will soon be our home. Nicotine stains and the stench of cigarette butts are not things we can just toss in a bag and be done with. The internet suggest bleach, white vinegar and lemon juice as popular choices in home. Unfortunately with 90% of the home made of wood including walls, ceiling panels and floors boards extracting the smell and stains that have ingrained into the porous pine the usual way wont do the trick alone. Sanding the floor is one thing but trying to sand the walls and ceiling seems like self injurious behaviour. First hand experience rules my mental roost and I hope you and other readers can donate a suggestion or two on how we can make this horrible cigarette smell go up in smoke permanently.
